Frequently Asked Questions
How do I install snapshots?
Some of our instruments come with a folder of snapshots. To use them the snapshots need to reside in a specific place in your system for Kontakt to
locate them.

The file path for Mac and Windows is C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\Native Instruments\User Content\Kontakt.

It is possible that a folder called “User Content” will not exist inside the
Native Instruments folder so you will need to create one. The same goes for the “Kontakt” folder. The simplest way to do this is from inside the Kontakt instrument.
Two short videos detailing the installation and use of snapshots can be found below. Either method will work, although for instruments with multiple patches
(eg Mystichord) the second video might be more useful.

Why can't I add your Instruments to my libraries in Kontakt?
All our libraries are standard open-format Kontakt libraries, so you can only load and browse the contents by using the normal “Files” and “Database” views in the Kontakt browser. You can also use the “File” menu button at the top of Kontakt.
The “Add Library” feature of Kontakt was designed to work exclusively for
“Powered by Kontakt” player libraries.
You can still quickly browse and load the Library's Instruments Folder using the “Files” tab or by adding it to the “Database” tab in the Kontakt browser.

Another useful function is Quickload where you can quickly store and access all your favourite instruments.

The advantage in making our libraries open-format instruments is that you don’t need a serial number or use “Add Library” to install it. It’s ready to go as soon as you install it and you can use it on any number of computers you own simultaneously.
Why can't I use your library in my free Kontakt Player?
For the same reason as the previous question. The Kontakt "Player" will only work with libraries that are "powered by Kontakt".
All other libraries will only work in demo mode in Kontakt "Player" which means they will time out after 15 min and the save function is disabled.
Libraries such as ours require the full version of Kontakt - so please be sure to check each instrument for compatibility.
